A Continued Pursuit of Excellence
A passion for excellence and a continued commitment to research and education is a constant at PAA. We work tirelessly to stay at the forefront of medical advances, changing regulations, and our ever-evolving industry.
Our Clinical Practice Committee (CPC), through research and literature, discovers the latest in clinical perioperative studies, and identifies events and trends regionally and nationally that impact patient outcomes. These findings are shared at PAA monthly meetings, and a written report is provided for our CRNA partners at Novant. We begin using this new evidence to alter our anesthetic plans and strategies, ensuring the safest possible environment during surgery. We also host regular journal clubs with our CRNA colleagues to dissect and discuss recent scientific publications.
In addition to our ongoing educational efforts, we offer a more formal education summit as well. In 2008, we began hosting an annual educational conference in Charlotte, NC, covering relevant perioperative topics and providing continuing medical education credits for physicians, CRNAs, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and nurses.
We expect this conference to continue to grow each year by bringing in top experts from around the world as speakers. Past conference topics have included Enhanced Recovery After Surgery, Combating the Opioid Crisis, and Patient Safety.
